Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions we get about Solar
How does the government rebate work? Do I get this after installation?
Small-scale technology certificates (STC), commonly referred to as rebates or STC’s are an incentive put in place by the federal government to assist homeowners in going solar.
The amount is dictated by the size of the system being installed and usually drops in value on the 1st of January each year.
The value of your rebate is collected by the company installing your solar system after installation, this amount is discounted off the price of your solar solution. Most reputable solar companies will provide you with a quote with a line item excluding the rebate, showing your out of pocket costs.
Please note the below table has been done on an average rebate of $35 per STC but this number can vary from usually $32 – $42 depending on the day.
