Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions we get about Solar
How does solar work?
1. Solar panels on your roof receive sunlight during daylight hours which they convert to energy and send that energy to your solar inverter.
2. The inverter then converts the DC power into AC power that your house can then use.
3. If you have any electrical loads running in the house the utility meter will send this power to those loads first to stop you from paying for as much grid power as possible.
4. If you are producing more solar power than your house needs, then the excess power will be sent back to the grid and you will receive a ‘feed in tariff’ for this power ranging anywhere between 5 and 15c depending on your retailer.
